Positive COVID-19 Case at Broadmeadow
We have become aware that an individual in your student’s school, Broadmeadow, has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time the COVID-19 positive student was in the school setting while possibly contagious was February 5, 2021. Parents of any students suspected of close contact have been contacted and instructed to not return to school for the period of time the nurse determines. Due to social distancing protocol in place, the classroom will remain open. The purpose of this letter is to keep all parents informed.
According to RCS school board approved metrics, if a second active case occurs in the same classroom within the same quarantine period, it may result in that classroom moving to full remote for several days, the length to be determined by the school nurse. This letter is also to remind parents of this possibility in the future.
All areas of the building and/or classroom potentially impacted are being cleaned and disinfected in accordance with recommendations from the CDC and IDPH. In light of the positive COVID-19 case, we ask that you do continue to daily monitor your student for symptoms and complete temperature checks. As a reminder, always keep your student at home if they are ill for any reason and contact your school nurse immediately.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing cooperation with our COVID-19 prevention policies and procedures as we work together to keep our students, staff, and families safe and healthy.
