ABOUT MS. MESSMAN
Hello! My name is Emily Messman and I am a special education resource teacher at Broadmeadow Elementary School. I graduated from Arizona State University with my BAE in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. I am originally from Bloomington, Illinois but I wanted to move back to my home state after I graduated from ASU to be closer to my family. I have experience working with a wide range of students from preschool up to third grade. I have taught in general education classrooms and special education settings, but always knew that I wanted to be a special education teacher.
My favorite part about being a teacher is seeing a student light up when they see the progress they have made. I believe in encouraging and uplifting students whenever possible and fostering confidence in their abilities. I like to remind my students that it is perfectly fine if they mess up or get confused, because I am right here to help them. I have enjoyed being a teacher at Broadmeadow, because our teachers and staff go the extra mile to create a warm and loving environment for everyone. From my first day here, I felt like I was part of this school family.
